Trinity cares for many people, and one aspect of that care that reaches many of our members and people associated with Trinity is delivery of the altar flowers. The flower ministry delivers the altar flowers weekly to our members who have been ill, who have lost a loved one, for special birthdays, graduations, baptisms, anniversaries, in thanks for deeds done for the parish or to simply say “we are thinking of you”.
We create home-made cards to express our care for homebound Trinity members that are submitted to our prayer list. The Trinity Children and Youth are also creating cards for parishioners periodically who are not able to join worship and/or are on the prayer list.
This ministry is a group of people who volunteer to provide meals to those who are having a new baby, going through a series of health treatments, or recovering from surgery. We typically provide meals or home delivery meal gift cards for 3 weeks at a time. If you like cooking, then this is a great way to share your gifts.
Like to Knit or crochet? Prayer shawls and prayer squares are made by hand, and provide a way for the community of Trinity to wrap people in prayer or remind people they are loved and prayed for. Whether it is grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing health problems, aging or hardship, or perhaps celebrating a new birth or other joyous life transition. These prayer shawls and squares remind those we share them with, that they are loved and not alone.
Pastoral Care is not just for those who are ordained. Participating in a pastoral care ministry is about living into an invitation to share Christ’s love through ministries of prayer, presence, caring, listening, companionship, and giving to others of one’s time. Members of our congregation join to care for each other in ways that makes use of each members time, talent and passions to best meet the needs and desires of those experiencing life transitions, health/care-giving challenges or grief. These ministries take on many forms and all are invited to participate.
