All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee.

1 Chronicles 29:14

Why we Give

We give in response to what God has done for us.  Every contribution to our shared life or a outreach initiative is an opportunity to respond to the gift of God’s blessings and to be people who live with Love.

God is generous and so he calls us to be as well.  What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.

Planned Giving

Good stewardship of our time, talents and treasures includes the notion of maximizing our resources beyond our lifetime. Trinity welcomes estate gifts and has been significantly blessed as a result of forethought and planning by many who have gone before us.

As you contemplate how your resources will be distributed upon death, please consider Trinity as a potential beneficiary of your estate. As with any financial decision, it is important to consult with an attorney who specializes in estate and financial planning to ensure that your estate planning wishes are carried out in the most tax advantageous way possible.

Altar Flower Donations

Many parishes have the tradition of offering an opportunity to mark special occasions by making a contribution for the flowers which are used to beautify the altar for worship. It is a great way to contribute to the parish and to mark important moments in your life. The suggested donation is $75. You can give online or by sending cash or check to the parish office.

CLICK HERE to donate Altar Flowers.

Flower Charts have been placed outside of both sanctuaries for people to sign-up. Contributions for the flowers are in the weekend bulletin. If you sign-up you will have the opportunity to have a commemoration noted. On a given weekend, multiple households can have commemorations acknowledged

During Lent and Advent, we do not have fresh flowers each week, but we still want people to be able to make commemorations. All funds contributed go to support the flower ministry.

Annual Giving/Stewardship FAQ

What is stewardship?

A steward is someone who looks after and manages another’s property or possessions.  As Christians, we believe that all that we have and all that we are comes from God.  So, when we talk about Stewardship, we are talking about how we manage what God has blessed us with.  Being intentional about our stewardship is then an expression of gratitude and thankfulness for the blessings of life that come from God.  It is love shared and love returned.  As Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”  Our ability to pursue the mission and ministries to which God has called us depends on the generosity of spirit of those who are a part of our community of Trinity.

What is stewardship about, in practical terms?

Practically, stewardship is about members of the parish supporting our shared life and ministry by making offerings of financial resources as well as time and abilities.

Is my stewardship defined only by the money I give to the church?

Of course not.  Stewardship is about living our life with gratitude.  It is about offering the blessings we have received back to God.  This can take a number of different forms.  It isn’t just about our financial offerings.

What is the Annual Giving Campaign?

The Annual Giving Campaign occurs once a year in the fall. It is a time when parishioners are asked to make a financial commitment to Trinity for the coming year, guided by the principles of grace, gratitude and generosity: reflecting with grace, expressing your gratitude and sharing with generosity.

What is the purpose of the Annual Giving Campaign?

Your pledge commitment is instrumental in the creation of our annual budget supporting all expenses necessary to live out the ministries at Trinity. Each year, we strive for 100% participation from our parishioners. No pledge amount is too great or small.

What is a Pledge?

A pledge is an annual commitment made in good faith to give an amount of money to the church in regular installments (weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually), chosen by you.

How will I determine the size of my pledge?

That is entirely up to you.  Pledge amounts vary by household.  Your pledge decision is a highly personal one.  We invite you to thoughtfully consider how God has blessed you, and how you are able to financially support Trinity so that we can continue to be a place where people can be nurtured on their journeys of faith for generations to come.  If this is your first pledge, pick an amount that you can comfortably meet.  If you have pledged before, consider if you are able to increase your giving in support of our shared life.

How do I make my pledge?

You can fill out a pledge card and return it by placing it in the offering plate or through the mail to Trinity (130 N. West St., Wheaton, IL 60187).

You can also communicate your pledge by:
(1) filling out the form at
https://tinyurl.com/TrinityGiving2025
(2) setting-up a recurring online payment using our website, https://secure.myvanco.com/L-Z35W/campaign/C-11Z5A
(3) e-mailing: giving@trinitywheaton.org

When should I pay my pledge?

You may fulfill your pledge monthly, quarterly, annually or in other patterns you choose.  With the introduction of online-banking, you may prefer to set up a regular payment to Trinity from your checking account or using a credit card! Predictable pledge payments help Trinity stay on top of ongoing expenses throughout the year.

Isn't giving to other worthwhile causes (PADS, PRC, Foodbanks, Red Cross, etc.) just as important?

We know there are many charities and organizations that are in need – and have an important role to play in the world.  It is our hope that you feel that Trinity is fulfilling Christ’s mission by guiding and supporting our parishioners spiritually, aiding others in our community while supporting additional agencies through our Diocesan support and the efforts of our own outreach team on an annual basis.

How does a pledge differ from a donation?

Pledging is a way of telling your community of faith what you intend to contribute.  When you pledge you provide the parish’s leadership with the ability to forecast our operating income for the year – this impacts programs such as Christian Education, Fellowship, and Outreach as well as items such as salaries, utilities and facility maintenance.  Unpledged donations are also greatly appreciated but do not provide the same ability to accurately develop an annual budget.  Many households make a pledge and additional donations for special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and Confirmation.  We are blessed with a wonderful staff and facility and we need to be able to commit to paying them and providing them with the resources to plan out their programs for the year.

Are there other ways for me to live out my commitment to Trinity?

Every one of us has a gift, and there are many contributions needed to keep Trinity the vibrant community that we are known to be.  Financial decisions are one way to live out your pledge, but there are other opportunities to pledge your time and talents.  Whether it is Sunday worship, church school, outreach ministries, fellowship events, or many other great ministries, there are countless ways that you can roll up your sleeves and help.  Nothing at Trinity happens without the support of parishioners.

What happens if I make a pledge and find that I cannot fulfill it?

Your pledge is not a contract. It is a spiritual commitment. If you cannot meet or if you need to adjust your pledge reach out to giving@trinitywheaton.org.   This allows us to update our records and plan accordingly.
