Once again, Trinity is participating in the Samaritan Backpack Drive, a vital outreach supporting patients at the Burn Unit of Stroger Hospital of Cook County. During the harshest winter months, the Burn Unit sees a significant increase in patients, many of whom are experiencing housing and food insecurity—particularly those being treated for frostbite.
Through a partnership led by Chaplain Michael Smith of Bishop Anderson House, Samaritan backpacks are provided to patients upon discharge, ensuring they have access to food and essential items during a vulnerable time. Episcopal churches throughout the Chicago area are invited to help meet this need, and Trinity is proud to take part.
