Outreach Commission
Outreach is expressing our love for God, our neighbors and ourselves by stepping outside our church walls and caring for those in need. This ministry takes us beyond just making charitable contributions to actively journeying with our neighbors.
This commission oversees our various Outreach ministries and decides how funds allocated for Outreach are disbursed.
DuPage PADS
Once a month, a group from Trinity delivers meals to residents at the PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) interim housing site in Downers Grove. Although this is not the same experience as when Trinity was an overnight site, having a permanent location for PADS guests has been a real plus for them.
For 35 years, DuPage Pads has remained a beacon of hope for those with little or no support while experiencing homelessness. Their signature year-round programs feed and shelter individuals and families who are homeless, connect them to case management and other services that can address the underlying cause of their homelessness.
DuPage Pads is so much more than a pad on the floor. DuPage Pads is about the journey home. It’s about the journey from dependency to self-sufficiency. Not the shelter. Not the nights spent in a car, in a motel room or on the street. DuPage Pads is a journey that begins with an extended hand, an affirming voice, and a trusting soul that will advocate undividedly for each individual.
If you want to get involved in this ministry, you can e-mail pads@trinitywheaton.org, or reach out to Trinity’s clergy clergy@trinitywheaton.org.

Christmas Sharing
Christmas Sharing is a ministry at Trinity with a long history. Since its founding in 1969 parishioners from Trinity have been helping families celebrate Christmas by providing food and gifts when money is tight.
Christmas Sharing is an all-volunteer charitable organization run by a coalition of Wheaton and Warrenville, Illinois churches that provides assistance to families in need during the Christmas season. Families are assisted without regard to their religious affiliation and our goal is to make their holidays a little brighter. The area we serve lies within the geographic boundary of Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200.

Prayer shawls and prayer squares are made by hand, and provide a way for the community of Trinity to wrap people in prayer or remind people they are loved and prayed for. Whether it is grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing health problems, aging or hardship, or perhaps celebrating a new birth or other joyous life transition. These prayer shawls and squares remind those we share them with, that they are loved and not alone. CLICK HERE to join.

Pastoral Care
At Trinity, Pastoral Care is offered by both lay people and the clergy. Participating in a pastoral care ministry is about sharing Christ’s love through ministries of prayer, presence and companionship. Members of our congregation care for each other by praying for others, preparing meals, providing rides in times of need, etc. If you are interested in learning more about getting involved in Pastoral Care ministries at Trinity, you can contact us using pastoralcare@trinitywheaton.org.
If you are facing a moment where you, or someone you care about, needs pastoral care, you can reach someone by emailing pastoralcare@trinitywheaton.org. You can also reach our pastoral care line at 630-665-1101 (listen to options to get to the right extension).
